Sozo is a peer-to-peer community focused on education, preparation, harm reduction, integration, and responsible support and sharing around psychedelic experiences.
While we are not religious, the name comes from an Ancient Greek word which means "to save, rescue, deliver, or make whole." While it often translates simply as "save," the original ancient Greek from which it derives encompasses a much broader scope of wholeness:
• Salvation: Rescuing someone from spiritual death or the consequences of sin
• Physical healing: Restoring health or curing a physical ailment or disease
• Deliverance: Protecting or freeing someone from physical danger or demonic oppression
The term makes appearances numerous times in the New Testament, and while again, we are non-religious, we can appreciate the power of that meaning and understand the feeling deeply. It summed up the feeling one gets after a spiritual experience.
